Toni Braxton's Role on Charmed

I was fortunate enough to be able to visit the set of Charmed: Alternate Season 5 a couple of weeks ago and have a chat with R&B sensation Toni Braxton. While on set the singer and I discussed her guest appearance on the hit virtual series as the character Cole Turner's (Julian McMahon, The Profiler) past love interest Kelly Archer. When asked what was it like to guest star on the bewitching drama, Braxton responded with, "It was a very interesting experience for me. I always wanted to get involved with acting so when I got the opportunity to do a guest part on the virtual show I jumped right onto it."

I asked Braxton if she enjoyed doing the scenes with special effects and she had this to say, "(laughs) The special effects scenes where very fun to do. When I appeared as a ghost in one scene, the entire scene was shot while I was standing in front of a green screen, but I'm used to green screens because I use them a lot in my music videos." While on set I also got to chat with Julian McMahon. When asked if he enjoyed the love scenes he had to shoot with Braxton, McMahon chuckled and replied, "Love scenes are always great to do. Especially when you're working with someone as gorgeous as Toni, but I tried not to get "too into" the scenes seeing as her husband tagged along for the shoot." As I wrapped up the interview I asked Braxton if she would consider reprising her role as Kelly if asked to do so and she replied with, "Absolutely. If the story-line was good and it didn't interfere with my schedule I would definitely reprise my role as Kelly."
