Secrets and Lies Review

I loved the teaser!  The Piper and Paige bit was funny and sisterly and the scene in Matt's apartment was a real shocker.  I also loved the way it kept leaving you on a cliffhanger and coming back to it, it made it a lot more interesting.  The stage direction's were just enough and didn't distract from the dialogue, which, by the way, was amazing!  It flowed really well, and felt really natural so well done!  I liked the pics, they've definitely improved and made the show more interesting.  Yay! Piper's pregnancy was mentioned.

The episode was very smooth and polished but I rate 'Charmed' episodes as good or great and I don't think this quite made it into the 'great' category.  The episode just wasn't exciting enough and the story, though I liked the twist with the possession, felt like it had happened, or at least something similar, already.  Slight plot hole too, the depossession spell needs the power of three to work or at least it did in 'Coyote Piper'.

Cole was back and he was bad - in a good way.  It was like early in season 4, when he was great and I think the relationship between he and Phoebe was spot on.  Eeek! I did not like Paige turning into such a girl and oh-so dependent on her guy - I want our resident ass-kicker back please!  The Matt and Max thing was cool, but surely Matt couldn't have so easily defeated Draco at the end?  But who is Kalesa...?  Leo is not getting enough lines for me, he is a great character, I need Leo!  Best of all was wonderful Piper, we have our big sister, one-liner, butt-kicking, pregnant witch back in the house! Yay!  8/10 simply because the characters and dialogue was really something special.
