Past Innocence
Review

This certainly falls into the 'great' episode category.
Parts really made me laugh out loud, I thought it was incredibly
funny; the writer has definitely got those one-liners down pat.
I sensed a little input from the actual Charmed season 5 but
that was cool. I didn't really get the significance of
the 'sacred blade', I thought it was a good storyline that maybe
could have been developed further, and also the explanation for
the non-vanquished demons was a bit weak. And the
innocents were funny but entirely too bolshy for my liking.
The spells were fun but they don't really make sense or have
a rhyme and rhythm, maybe you could work on that. I did
like the way Phoebe's protection spell was worked into the previous
episode, that was subtle yet effective, they don't do that enough
in the 'real' show.
The reason it's a 'great' episode is simply because it was so
funny and the characters could not have been any more realistic,
natural or more themselves. Phoebe was fantastic, suitably
over-protective but again, where was Cole? Paige was perfect
and though I love Matt and I really don't want them to split
up, how naive can you get? He has to tell Paige
about the Draco/Max thing or when she does find out she'll be
so mad! I love her whole new power thing, though I'm not
sure what it means, and the other people's thoughts in her
mind-reading spell were great. I can't describe how wonderful
I thought Piper was, and (yay!) her pregnancy, and her one-liners
were wicked, there were far too many to mention them all but
I thought her 'cannon fingers' were particularly apt.
Leo was back and he was terrific, the writer certainly got his
character right. The episode has to have 9/10 for
pure amusement factor.
