The Power of Four Review

Well, the writer certainly picked a tricky subject! The story was good, it was feasible and I'm glad that Draco was invlolved a bit, as he seems to be behind everything at the moment. The episode was a bit short and didn't really have a typically 'Charmed' format, there wasn't anything particularly demonically related in the teaser and it didn't really draw the audience in. Also, there seemed to be a few leaps of logic within the plot, it didn't flow well in places. There wasn't enough action either, I thought, the witch doctor could have been a bit tougher to kill. I loved the ending though, Paige's memory and the sisters' oath was ingenious and the Grams bit at the very end was perfect.

I'm not sure that the writer got the characters entirely right. At the very beginning, I don't think that Piper and Phoebe would have been that thoughtless nor Paige that outspoken. Prue was difficult to write but I think the anger about her 'charmed duties' could have been explored more. Piper was irritating but I thought that was quite realistic and I was particularly pleased when she almost became the eldest again and saved everybody's asses. Phoebe and Leo, were portrayed as fairly neutral and I think this worked within the plot. Paige was not perfect, but was damn close though I think Matt could have been brought in too. I liked Prue's and Paige's outbursts, they were raw but they were real, and will people laugh at me if I say it made my chest a little tight? 7/10 because although it wasn't one of the best, it was tough to write and it was still readable.
