Family Ties Review

Great episode, the plot wasn't very important but the characters
and the character revelations were amazing. I like the seeds
in the twins and how Leo was still worried and I am not surprised
at all that he hasn't told Piper. The speeding spell was
good, the spell itself was slightly random but it was a good
idea. I wasn't entirely sure why Draco kept having these
flashbacks but they were fantastic, bittersweet to see the relationship
between the brothers because I was glad they were happy and got
on well but I was sad because I knew it didn't last. Each
demon vanquish was different and I though that the variety kept
it interesting as you knew they were going to win.
The Oracle has always been in awe of and a bit nervy in front
of Draco and I thought that playing on that to this extent at
the beginning of the episode was really clever. Then at the
end, having her turn nasty and leaving us at yet another cliffhanger
(!) just when there were signs of him becoming good again was
totally messing with my emotions but in a good way. Draco
does kind of deserve whatever sticky end she has in mind though,
if you consider the way he's been treating her. I loved him
saving Matt, what a twist, and there was something in that giving
the Oracle a cookie that was very male, very nineties and very
patronising. Matt's initial anger but later hopefullness
towards Draco is good, but I thought indecisiveness is a woman's
perogative? Paige didn't seem to have very much to say on
the subject, and Cole being on the convert's side made sense. I
adored Piper's and Leo's little love scene we need them more often,
though can babies that small actually giggle? 9/10
for character conflicts.
